First City Church - About Us

Our Story

The Lord is bringing together a diverse group of people at First City, rich and poor, black and white, old and young, those who have walked with God many years and those who are just beginning their journey, to reach out to the Pensacola community with a message of love, acceptance and abounding grace. God wants to include everyone in His story and we'd be honored if you would join us as we all seek to discover our own unique place in His story.

Mission & Philosophy of Ministry

Our mission is to lead people in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe it is a partnership with God in which we create environments where the Holy Spirit changes lives. Our three primary environments are:

Front Door - Our Sunday morning worship experience. Everything we do on Sunday monrings is with God and our guests in mind. Our worship music is contemporary and uplifiting. The message is easy to understand and practical. We want everyone to feel welcome, accepted and loved when they join us for Sunday worship.

Family Room - Community Service and Events. Family Room is a place to make friends, to know and the be known. Once a month we serve a meal together at the Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen. It provides with the opportunity to serve our community but it also blesses us and our friendships as we work together. Other family room events include coffee house nights in the Attic, baby and bridal showers, movie nights, concerts, praise nights, yoga classes . . .

Table Groups - Small Group Ministry. At First City we measure success by the number of people who are involved in a Table Group. We know this is the environment where real and lasting life change takes place. Group members share their lives and their stories and provide the support and encouragement we all need.
